A hundred kilometers north of Abidjan, the forest is gradually giving way to lines and cables, the first visible signs of a radical transformation underway. It is in this still raw construction site setting, but carrying considerable industrial promise, that Minister Kalil Konaté set foot on the site of the future Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Adzopé on June 17, 2026, surrounded by administrative, customary and municipal authorities. A field visit with strong symbolism, in a region that the government intends to place at the heart of its national industrialization strategy.

On site, the CI-Énergies teams presented the progress of energy infrastructure, an essential component for the future operationality of the area. This work constitutes the essential technical framework to accommodate future production units. The presence of the Mayor of the commune, Ms. Yolande Achi, illustrated the local anchoring of a project designed both for the territory and for the national economy. CFA investments and generate around 51,000 jobs. One of its major strategic axes concerns the local valorization of raw materials, in accordance with the government's economic doctrine which aims to increase the rate of local processing, particularly in the agricultural sectors. 

The Mé region, rich in these resources, is thus positioned as a future leading industrial hub. This vision is part of the National Development Plan 2026-2030, of which industrialization constitutes a central pillar. Minister Konaté reaffirmed on site the government's commitment to making industry a lever for economic growth, sustainable job creation and structural transformation. An orientation carried at the highest level of the State by the President of the Republic H.E Alassane OUATARRA, whose vision of “inclusive, competitive and wealth-creating industrialization throughout the national territory” guides the implementation of these structuring projects.

Let us emphasize that the realization of such a project requires not only public investments supported private sectors, but also rigorous governance and met deadlines. The Minister's visit is intended to be a strong signal sent to potential investors, the Adzopé SEZ is not a paper project, but a commitment by the Ivorian State to make each territory an engine of national development.
