Guinea is entering a new phase in its quest for international financial credibility. Indeed, it was in a framework of high economic diplomacy that the meeting was held between the Minister Director of Cabinet of the Presidency and President of the Simandou 2040 Strategic Committee, Djiba Diakité, and the CEO of Bloomfield Investment Corporation, Stanislas Zézé. Alongside the Minister, whose central role in steering Simandou 2040 is now recognized well beyond Guinea's borders, took part in the meeting Mariama Ciré Sylla, Minister of Economy, Finance and Budget, Ismaël Nabé, Minister of Planning, International Cooperation and Development, as well as presidential advisors Maimouna Diakhaby and Aly Seydouba Soumah. The composition of this delegation reflects the strategic importance given to the mobilization of external financing.

Discussions focused on the tools and mechanisms to strengthen Guinea's attractiveness to international investors. In September 2025, S&P Global Ratings had already assigned Guinea a “B+” sovereign rating with a stable outlook, a historic first for the country. The intervention of Bloomfield Investment Corporation, a leading agency on the continent, is part of this dynamic of consolidating the financial credibility of Conakry, with a view to further opening access to regional and international capital markets. The Simandou 2040 program, whose ambitions extend well beyond the exploitation of the largest unexploited iron deposit in the world, requires an unprecedented mobilization of financing.

Ranked 10th African destination for foreign direct investments in 2025, Guinea intends to capitalize on this dynamic. The meeting with Bloomfield is clearly part of this logic, reassuring donors, securing financial commitments and accelerating the realization of a development program which commits the economic future of the country for the next two decades, under the leadership of its Head of State, H.E Mamadi DOUMBOUYA.
