Led by the General Director of PETROCI HOLDING, Fatoumata Sanogo, the Ivorian delegation spent two days in Baku to meet the managers of SOCAR Upstream, SOCAR Trading, as well as those of the Baku Higher Oil School, a reference institution for training in the oil sector. This approach is part of PETROCI HOLDING's desire to develop strategic partnerships with major players in the global oil and gas industry, in order to support its growth and strengthen the skills of its teams.
Discussions focused on exploration-production, oil and gas trading, energy transition, the development of human capital as well as the transfer of skills between the two national companies. The high point of this mission was the meeting with the President of SOCAR, Rovshan Najaf, and members of the senior management of the Azerbaijani group. The two parties reaffirmed their desire to build lasting cooperation in the areas of exploration-production, trading, technical assistance, sharing of expertise and training, through a future memorandum of understanding. This diplomatic and industrial offensive is part of a regional context where Côte d'Ivoire seeks to further secure its oil revenues and diversify its international partnerships beyond traditional traditional players.
This merger between two national oil companies illustrates PETROCI HOLDING's ambition to create more value for Côte d'Ivoire, by leveraging the recognized expertise of SOCAR in exploration, trading and technical training.
