When the ambitions of the State are great, it is necessary to reinvent the financing circuits linked to the development of your country. This is the observation that dominated the discussions between the Minister of Planning and Development, Dr Souleymane Diarrassouba, and Ahunna Eziakonwa, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Director of the UNDP Regional Office for Africa, at a time when the contraction in official development assistance and the decline in concessional financing are shaking up the budgetary strategies of African States. Private capital, climate financing, green funds, public-private partnerships and recycling of public assets are now among the preferred instruments to fill the deficit left by the traditional financing response.
Also the UNDP intends to position itself as a strategic ally of Ivorian development, drawing on its experience acquired in 170 countries and territories to disseminate best practices in public policies. This expertise extends to monitoring and evaluation, statistical production, impact measurement, human capital development and resource mobilization from international mechanisms. This meeting thus opens a new phase of collaboration, in the continuity of the Consultative Group for the financing of the PND, confirming the common ambition to build, in the words of Minister Diarrassouba, "a great nation, prosperous and united". an amount of 99.3 million dollars.
