Abidjan is courting Paris as part of the PND 2026-2030. Indeed, a delegation led by the Minister Counselor for Economic Affairs and Head of the Regional Economic Service of Abidjan, had a working session with the Ivorian Minister of Planning and Development, Dr. Souleymane Diarrassouba. The meeting was part of the dynamic preparation of the Consultative Group scheduled for July 8 and 9, 2026 in Abidjan. This strategic platform should make it possible to raise 11,138.2 billion FCFA from international technical and financial partners, as part of a global investment plan estimated at 114,838.5 billion FCFA, of which 70.2% expected from the private sector.
Dr. Diarrassouba invited France to play a leading role in this mobilization, recalling the strategic position of Côte d'Ivoire as the leading economy in the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA). The two parties also explored avenues for associating the French Business Movement (MEDEF) with this high-level meeting, thus broadening the scope of French involvement beyond the diplomatic framework. Franco-Ivorian economic cooperation, solid and multi-sectoral, naturally occupied a central place in exchanges. Ms. Slimani Houti, who heads the Abidjan Regional Economic Service, a privileged interface between French companies and the Ivorian market, reaffirmed Paris's desire to strengthen its commitment alongside Abidjan.
The ball is now in the court of French investors, called to seize the opportunities offered by one of the most ambitious development plans in Africa sub-Saharan.
