With an adoption rate of 11.70% of its population using generative AI solutions, Côte d'Ivoire rises to 11th place in Africa, ahead of more populous economies such as Nigeria, Ghana or Cameroon. A result which confirms the trajectory of Abidjan, the main digital center in French-speaking West Africa, whose mobile penetration rate exceeds 90%. If South Africa dominates the continent with 21.19%, Ivory Coast notably outperforms Morocco (10.90%), and is positioned as the only French-speaking country in sub-Saharan Africa in the African top 15. A strong signal, as the Microsoft report notes a persistent gap between Northern countries (24.7% on average) and Southern countries (14.1%).
This performance is not the result of chance. It is anchored in a dynamic scope by the rise of tech startups in Ivory Coast, the expansion of telecoms infrastructure and the declared political will of the Ivorian government to make digital transformation a lever for development.
