Part of the priorities of the National Development Program (PND) of Côte d'Ivoire, this large-scale project plans to profoundly transform the living conditions and mobility of the populations of northern Ivory Coast. The area concerned, landlocked and heavily agricultural, has suffered for decades from insufficient road infrastructure, hampering the evacuation of production to markets. Beyond traffic flow, there are multiple objectives. This involves strengthening the national road network, fighting rural poverty, and increasing the mobility of goods and people.
The project also includes the construction or rehabilitation of strategic bridges, guaranteeing the continuity of the axes in all seasons. For the populations of the localities of Dikodougou, Guiembé and Boron, the challenge is direct, better access to basic socio-economic services and a reduction in accidents linked to degraded roads. This project is part of a broader national dynamic. The Ivorian government is increasing its opening-up projects to connect the interior regions to the rest of the country, like the Korhogo-Dianra axis also underway in the region.
Ultimately, the Tioroniaradougou - Boron road should become an essential economic corridor, stimulating trade between the north and the country's urban centers.
