Ivorian industry, which is undergoing rapid change, will soon benefit from metallurgical and pharmaceutical infrastructures. This is what emerges from the meeting between Minister Kalil Konaté and the promoters of the Ivoire Acier and B5 Groups. The project involves the construction of a steelworks at PK47 on the Northern highway and a rolling mill at PK24, in the heart of the industrial zone developed by Arise Ivoire. These two works will constitute the pillars of national production of reinforcing steel and metallurgical products intended for Côte d'Ivoire and the markets of the West African sub-region. 2026. Beyond metallurgy, the B5 Group intends to engage in the manufacture of medicines and, ultimately, vaccines, an ambition which outlines the contours of true health and industrial autonomy for the country.

Minister Kalil Konaté recalled that metallurgy and pharmacy are explicitly among the strategic sectors of the policy of government industrialization. He reaffirmed the State's commitment to supporting investors and removing administrative obstacles to accelerate the realization of these projects. These announcements are part of the vision of the President of the Republic, H.E Alassane OUATTARA, to increase the share of industry in Ivorian GDP to 30% in the next 5 years. 

Note that with thousands of direct and indirect jobs at stake, this project illustrates the ongoing transformation of an Ivorian economy which no longer only wants to produce raw materials, but to transform them and care for its populations with its own means.
