A few days ago, the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production, Bruno Nabagné Kone, granted Dutch Ambassador Jeroen Kelderhuis to Côte d'Ivoire, for a working session dedicated to strengthening bilateral agricultural cooperation. The two personalities took stock of the execution of the memorandum of understanding signed in 2023, an agreement which notably gave birth to the COCOAPERATION program, with a Dutch contribution of 1.5 million euros to support the Ivorian cocoa sector. Tiébissou made it possible to train more than 240 young Ivorians. The Netherlands, the world's leading importer of cocoa, has recognized expertise in the agri-food sector which is of particular interest to the Ivorian authorities keen to diversify and modernize their production. At the end of the discussions, the two parties reaffirmed their desire to give new impetus to this partnership, with an emphasis on food security and agricultural financing, two levers considered essential for more efficient and sustainable Ivorian agriculture.

This dialogue is part of a broader bilateral dynamic, begun in 1961 and regularly renewed, notably during the last Summit EU-AU in Luanda.
