The commune of Plateau, Abidjan's business city, is reaching a new milestone in its digital transformation. At the start of the week, a high-level meeting was held at the Plateau Town Hall, under the chairmanship of the Honorable Jacques Gabriel Ehouo, Deputy Mayor of the town, to take stock of the progress of a structuring project. This involves the deployment of a shared underground network, open to all telecommunications operators. It is the KAYDAN Group, represented by its President Alain Kouadio at the head of a technical delegation, which is responsible, within the framework of an agreement signed with the Town Hall, for designing and deploying this infrastructure. According to the Mayor, the objective is to put an end to the disorder in the installation of cables and telecom equipment on the surface, by offering underground galleries common to all operators. This project is fully in line with the “Plateau Smart City” vision, led by Mayor Ehouo, which makes the Plateau an urban laboratory for modernization. It follows other notable technological initiatives, such as the inauguration in February 2026 of the first intelligent public lighting in Côte d'Ivoire.
