It was in front of the cranes of the second container terminal (symbol of a port which has crossed the milestone of 40 million tonnes of goods handled in 2025) that the senior Indian officers took the full measure of the Ivorian port ambition. Received by the Director General of the Autonomous Port of Abidjan (PAA), Kassoum Traoré, accompanied by several members of the Management Committee, the members of the delegation engaged in in-depth discussions on the current modernization projects, the strategic positioning of the port and its contribution to the development of Côte d'Ivoire and its West African hinterland.

It must be to say, the PAA is not a port like the others. The first maritime infrastructure in the sub-region, it handles 77% of Ivorian foreign trade and generates 76% of the country's customs revenue. It also serves landlocked states such as Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger, consolidating its status as an essential regional logistics hub. Between 2013 and 2024, more than 1,100 billion FCFA were invested to modernize its infrastructure.

This visit by the NDC is part of a dynamic already recorded with other foreign military academic institutions, confirming that Abidjan is now establishing itself as a strategic reference beyond the borders Africans.
