Côte d'Ivoire confirms its attractiveness to large Chinese industrial groups. It is in the wake of consolidated Sino-Ivorian cooperation (more than 2,500 billion FCFA injected into Ivorian infrastructure over the last decade) that Ni Zhen, CEO of the Energy China group, was received by the Minister of Infrastructure and Road Maintenance, Yacouba Hien Sié. The boss of the Chinese engineering giant came to reaffirm his group's strategic interest in the Ivorian market.

The discussions covered three priority areas, namely transport infrastructure (road, rail, port and airport), clean energy, as well as construction and civil engineering. This orientation is a continuation of the ambitions displayed by the group during previous meetings with the Ivorian authorities, notably in October 2024 with Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé. Beyond infrastructure, Ni Zhen broadened the vision of his group by expressing Energy China's desire to support the economic transformation of Côte d'Ivoire in sectors as varied as industrialization, digitalization, agriculture, mining resources and electric energy. Ambitions which resonate with the national objective of an energy mix of 16% renewable energies by 2030.

In short, this meeting marks a new stage in the strengthening of the strategic partnership between Abidjan and Beijing, while China remains the leading supplier country to Côte d'Ivoire.
