Côte d'Ivoire and the United States towards strengthening their cooperation at sea. Indeed, the Permanent Secretariat of the Interministerial Committee in charge of State Action at Sea (SEPCIM-AEM) and a delegation from the United States Naval Forces for Africa (NAVAF) held a strategic meeting. Led by Alan Atienza, Maritime Program Manager, the American delegation was received by the Permanent Secretary of SEPCIM-AEM, Abroulaye Fofana.

On the agenda of the discussions, an in-depth inventory of Ivorian-American cooperation on maritime and security issues in the Gulf of Guinea, a strategic region with considerable geopolitical and economic challenges. Mr. Shawn Hodgins, American Maritime Advisor, also brought his expertise to this working session, enriching the discussions with a concrete operational dimension. The two parties also discussed future prospects, with a particular focus on the NAVAF's 2028 budget planning. A strong signal of the lasting commitment of the United States alongside Côte d'Ivoire in securing West African maritime spaces.

Note that this meeting is part of the dynamic of international cooperation that the SEPCIM-AEM, consolidating the role of Côte d'Ivoire as an anchor of maritime stability in the Gulf of Guinea.
